What is Fincar?

Fincar is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in MEN ONLY. Safety and efficacy have been demonstrated in aldult men with mild to moderate hair loss of the vertex and anterior mid-scalp area with the help of Fincar.

 

How Fincar taken?

Fincar is recommended for use in adult males. The recommended Fincar dose is 5 mg once a day with or without meals. The recommended Fincar dosage is 1 mg once a day, with or without meals. In general, daily use for three months or more is necessary before benefit is observed. Continued use is recommended to sustain benefits. Withdrawal of treatment leads to reversal of effect within 12 months. Although early improvement is seen, at least 6-12 months of therapy with Fincar, it may be necessary in some patients to assess whether a beneficial response to Fincar has been achieved.

What are the Fincar side-effects?

The Fincar side-effects are usually mild and don't last longer than a few hours. These are as follows

Decreased libido

Erectile dysfunctions

Ejaculation disorders (primarily decreased volume of ejaculate).

Breast tenderness and enlargement.

Hypersensitivity reactions including lip swelling and skin rash.

Warning And Precautions

Fincar is not indicated for use in paediatric patients or women.

Fincar is strictly taken under doctor's supervision.

Women should not handle crushed or broken Fincar tablets when they are pregnant or may potentially be pregnant because of the possibility of absorption of finasteride and the subsequent potential risk to a male fetus.

It is advisable not to drink large amounts of alcohol before taking Fincar,because drinking alcohol reduces the effectiveness of Fincar.

Do not take Fincar after a high-fat meal.

Fincar is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in MEN ONLY and should NOT be used by women or children.

Do not take Fincar along with medication containing nitrates.Nitrates causes lowering the blood pressure.
